I'm not sure what it could be...

I notice that I always have trouble reading out loud. That’s usually why I don’t like doing it because I end up choking and stuttering on my words and then I lose where I left off and don’t want to continue reading. I also have trouble with th and f words because I say th words with with my lips and not my teeth... same with f words. It seems to be a habit but still a problem.

I also always have my TV up loud... so much that my mom has to tell me to turn it down more than once before I can’t hear it at all. I have a lot of problems filtering out the background noise to watch TV and I can’t concentrate at all. It’s always been a problem for me and it doesn’t seem like something autistic related. I just feel I have much odder hearing issues that aren’t defined under the autistic spectrum. I thought of central auditory processing disorder but I don’t want to self-diagnose either.

I just know I have trouble with distractions and background noises and other things. It doesn’t seem normal and I have even failed hearing tests at school all of the time. They used to make me listen even closer and I still couldn’t hear them.

I thought maybe it could be Auditory processing disorder but I want to know if it might be other things. I do have Asperger Syndrome, ADHD and severe anxiety but... I'm just not sure. I only figure its APD because it fits what I go through but I don't know if that's even the right choice...

So maybe you guys could help me out?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Yes, it could be auditory processing disorder, or it could be a speech disorder too. You could also be having a hearing problem or an auditory hallucination. Ear infections, and other causes of decreased hearing will need to be assessed by an ENT specialist. If you have not had one recently, please go for a complete neuro-psychiatric assessment.
Take care!

I am concerned about your hearing issues and feel you should see a specialist for a full exam and testing.

As for reading out loud, that may be anxiety related and could be further complicated by your other issues
