Infectious Disease sufferers ?

What would be the consequences of going undiagnosed over two years , only to find out it is a serious form of coccioidomycosis, after a month long+ fever of unknown origin? Chronic increasingly uncontrolled coughing ; symptoms and lessions in multiple places . Now what ? Is there any hope ? What possible treatment could there be after all this time ?

Your physician can do a blood test called a "cocci comp fix" --- the results will indicate whether or not your symptoms are due to valley fever.

I think it would defenitly be worth it. Even if they decide not to give you an anti-fungal or see if it clears up on it's own you'll want to know what you have been having to deal with for so long.
You deserve to put a name to the problem. Believe me it does alot just to know. The infectious Disease specialist is a good app. to keep no matter what. What can it hurt right?

I hope it goes well and they have your answere

Thank you for responding ,
Do you happen to know if it's worth getting an anti-fungual test 2 years after initial infection? Nearly a dozen doctors haven't known what was wrong with me. I have been suspected of having every thing from lyme disease to M.S. and beyond . Will see an infectious disease doctor though . I appreciate your input.

When I was living in California there was a news program about it after an earthquake, The information on the news said that it can clear up on its own sometimes but in some cases it progresses outside the lungs and causes symptoms like you just explained. They said your DR can give you an anti-fungal if you test positive but it does not treat the cocciodomycosis. I believe they can test the blood or other bodily fluids for it.
You should defenitly see your DR as the symptoms have seemed to leave your lungs. They may want to give you the anti-fungal or whatever other treatment thay can use.
Thats all I really know about it which probably isnt much,
But you defenitly need to go to the DR.

I hope you can get better soon.
