I also have a sensitivity to paint fumes. This seems to be a new sensitivity within the last five years. I have found though that the symptoms are worse if I purchase paint that already has a primer in it. I too must always wear a mask and have PLENTY of air circulation in the room during the painting AND the drying process. Occassionally, I will suffer symptoms of swollen forehead (knots appearing in various places), sinus pain and headaches. Now, I paint as little a possible now. I try to leave that task to someone else or hire a professional. Get some air. Close the door to the room you have painted or the room you have painted in and place a fan in that room and in the room that you are spending time in. Hope this helps. Blessing abound!
Hi, you may have sensitivity to chemicals found in the paint, and if you have any liver issues at all, you could have symptoms of toxicity, as everything, even the stuff we inhale gets processed by the liver, especially chemicals we breathe in. You may notice the symptoms lessen over the course of a few days, some of those spray paints are very noxious, and you may have to out them outside for a while until they cure, you'll likely notice you'll feel better soon. If not go to the dr. My husband used to work around a lot of inhalants doing paint work and resto on vehicles, and in work environment as well, and over time he could not handle being around any chemical fumes anymore, but he has found out he has compromised liver due to other factors so his liver cannot filter as well as it used to and detox those chemicals. You could have an allergy to something in there.
