Is there really no one out there with any help for dermagraphia?

I posted for any ideas about severe dermagraphia barring lupus or thyroid problems? This is a truly uncomfortable as well as unsightly issue. Is there anyone out there who has any ideas about what might cause a histimine reaction of this magnitude?

Dermagraphia elixir:

1 pt. virgin's blood
2 oz. holy water
A dash of salt
1 bottle Zyrtec ground into a fine powder
1 shot of vodka

Worked for me.

My name is Cameron and I'm 16. I started suffering from dermagraphia one year ago. I can't scratch an itch or the area will become inflamed. Morover the itching spreads. I tried numerous allergy pills but none work. Are any of my symptoms common between any of you?

Smoke weed. Not kidding. I've had chronic dermagraphia for 2 years. I've tried every pill they gave me and they either didn't work or made me feel dead most of the day.

The only medication that takes care of my hives and revives my skin from the rough itching and scratching its gone through is marijuana.

In fact, the only time I do break out is when I visit my parents house because I can't smoke weed there.

If you have dermagraphia and live in Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont or Washington State, I highly recommend talking to your doctor about medicinal marijuana.

Try omitting caffeine from your diet! It was so hard for me to do but it has helped me greatly. I also was diagnosed with dermagraphia with just a prescription for every antihistamine drug out there and then steroids.  Nothing helped and specialists say it's just something you have to live with.  I researched and caffeine is linked to inhibiting histamine and increasing the histamine levels.  I was sensitive to all heat and pressure to any part of the body (even inside my ears and stomach).  It shouldn't have to be something to live with when you know something clearly is wrong.  I don't know if it will help everyone but I know I can actually live again.  Good luck and please try it.

I have this too.  It's driving me crazy.  I can't adjust a necklace, walk or hold on to the steering wheel without getting marks and itchy hives.  Although my children think it's cool, I get strange looks from people all of the time.  I've tried zyrtec and m now on xytal, but neither really helps.  What's the thyroid connection?  I have hypothyrodism.

When I was younger all my friends thought it was the coolest thing, they would mark me, sign me, and say i was their property. once i played tic-tac-toe on my stomach with my little sister. in the beginning my parents thought i was allergic to chocolate.

This is not a cure but it might help.  My husband has had dermagrphia for years and was close to insanity when someone suggested he take reactin.  He now lives relatively symptom free by taking a half a reactin eveyother day.  He starts to get really itchy by the second day and could probably do better to take it every day but he hates that he even has to take pills that often.

What are your symptoms? I have lupus, and they do not present at all like you described in your original post. They would be itchy, sometimes bleed and would not go away without treatment/removal. One thing to try and narrow done what it could be, is if you have and creams that have a steriod in them, try using it and see if it helps these "patches", certain skin conditions will only respond to steroid treatment and that may help.
