LEft side of my body, mysterious injuries.

by jimaymay, May 03, 2006 12:00AM
about 1 month ago i woke up and my foot was very sore on top, so sore to the point i couldnt walk on it much at all. After a week of not getting better went to the Dr. they said bruise and contusion, gave me naproxen to help it go away quiker. Well about 2 days later woke up and i couldnt move my thumb and was in alot of pain. Another 3 days pass and my left side of my jaw hurts. The foot and thumb are also both on left side, icing them down doesnt help, heat doesnt really help much either.
Since i have been to the Dr. once already and they were obviously wrong, i would like to see if anybody here could possibly help m narrow it down before i go back. I have missed 3 weeks of work due to this problem.

Thnx for any help you can provide, Jim

Arthritis is a good bet, especially if there is swelling and redness in the painful areas.  Return to your doc, or find another one.  An internal medicine specialist would be a good bet for someone who would take your complaints seriously.

Was there any bruise visible in any of these cases? Or is it pain with no visible cause? Arthritis is one logical idea. There are many types of arthritis that can occur at any age. It can come on suddenly. You may just need a little bloodwork to narro it down. A Rheumatologist may be helpful too if your regular Dr. can't figure it out. The Naprosyn should help though. Take it as prescribed for a week or two, and see if there's any improvement. Taking it only "as needed" will not produce as good of a result because it has a cumulative effect.

Well, on the thumb there is swelling, the foot has had a bit of swelling and redness on top, i really dont think this is arthritis since it seems to be 100% muscle related and my walking with a limp is because of limited overall movement, not pain. if i stand on the edge of a step on my toes and try to lift myself with my right foot, no problem i can do that 100 times over, but with my left foot now, i have what seems like 0 strength at all.

I did find an internal medicine specialist, lol famous guy at that, i play poke with his brother so i get the hookup on that.

If this is some form of arthritis i am gonna shoot myself by age 30 if it gets worse, i was imobile for almost a month.

Thnx for you input guys.

I've had serious war and other related injuries left side of body. While visiting Thailand a couple of years ago. There was a Japanese M.D. whom gave an extensive talk on the subject. Unfortunately at the time was jet lagging. Only recall that everything he said made perfect reason with the history of my life and family exposure [karma]. My point here is to give help and clues for anyone whom can do more research. my email is atuu at aol ******* please, if you find something. I'm also back in Thailand.
