I'll do this in point form.
Not to be impersonal, but to make it all easier to take in.
Symptoms started in 2006, but only just noticeable.
Grew a bit worse in 2007.
Over the last few months it has been a majorMajor tears Major-gesic concern (currently Nov 2009).
The following are all the symptoms that are new to me in this time frame.
Don't know if they are all related, but this is what I've got.
"BRAIN CLOUD" - The feeling that I'm thinking through a fog. Can't focus. Can't concentrate. MemoryMemory loss Mental status tests is bad. Can't multitask
when it used to be something I was good at. Difficulty focusing to read and/or write (a former hobby of mine). Work is
suffering as a result.
FATIGUE - Always feeling tired. Some days worse than others. Some days I feel I could crawl under my desk and fall asleep.
Even after sleeping a full night I am still tired.
STIFFNESS - All joints are stiff, and I constantly feel the need to 'flex' or 'tense' them. This includes wrists, ankles,
shoulders...
NECK PAIN - Can no longer sleep with more than one pillow. Sometimes can't use any at all. Will wake up with horrible neck pain
that goes from nape of neck to top of skull, like a tingling pressure. Feels light a weight on the back of my neck and skull.
SWEATING - I'm a big guy, but lately I sweat like crazy. Even in the winter, when everyone is complaining that the heat needs to
be turned up, I'm dripping and trying to hide sweat stains.
I am a 33 year old male.
I am 5'11".
I am 280lbs.
While I am overweight, my weight has not changed to any great degrees over the past few years.
I have been going to the gym 3 days a week for the past few months, which has made no difference (positive or negative).
My doctor has ruled out;
- thyroid disorder or any related conditions
- diabetes or any related conditions
- testosterone deficiency
- anemia or low iron
- cancer
I have a history of depression, but not since I was in my teens.
My doctor suggested anti-depressents, and I've tried both Effexor and Paxil.
Gave both a fair shot - no change in condition.
The doctors keep telling me there's nothing wrong.
But I know there is.
I am faking my way through work every day and feel that it's only a matter of time before I'm fired.
I have a wife, kids, and mortgage.....I need to deal with this.
Hi
Welcome to the forum!
You have described your symptoms pretty well. From you symptoms alone it sounds like chronic fatigue syndrome. This usually presents with widespread myalgia and arthralgia, headaches, chronic mental and physical exhaustion, cognitive difficulties, concentration difficulty and memory problems.
Then you also need to investigate other causes of brain fog like liver dysfunction (get liver enzymes done—liver function test), kidney dysfunction (get kidney function test done), and anemia.
Discuss these possibilities with your doctor. Take another doctor’s opinion preferably an internal medicine specialist. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Man, it always relieves me when some1 has the same problem I do. Symptoms for me have lasted about a month, hard to tell exactly when, since I was sick as a dog at the time. On top of what you said, minus libedo, I've also had shakes / tremors in my hands, especially after drinking anythink to try to keep me awake, and since it started, it feels like my iq dropped like 30 points. Also having a hard time judging time, a day almost feels like a week to me.
I'm 20 years old, living with my parents working in a warehouse and every1 is starting to think I'm slacking, when I'm doing the best i can.
Please help me. the worst part is that with all these problems, I'm terrified that if I drop my guard, like fall asleep, my brain will just shut off and I'll wake up dead.
I'm sorry to hear that you're going through all this. All I can tell you is that I went through all that for 3 months and am about 3 weeks into being healed. They had even prescribed a low dose of Zoloft (anti-depressant) I took it for 3 days and had horrible effects from it and never took it again.
Answer: Jesus, my anti-depressant. I had neurological, cognitive, joint pain, even went to NYC to the best hospitals seeking answers. I am going on 4 mos. Postpartum and I'm a High School teacher and had to go back to work. I am married and this is our first child and have mortgage and bills to pay as well.
I was lacking in faith in God, I increased my faith daily, sank into His Word, prayed daily and listened to and sang Worship songs. I was thinking its taking too long, but perseverance pays.. it worked! I am healed. I even had vision problems and was dizzy a lot. I couldn't be around my baby without trembling with fear and all that is completely gone!
Try God, tell Him to come into your heart, get a Bible, turn on Christian radio or TV and meditate in the Lord. So many people want to try false religions but God is The DOCTOR OF ALL DOCTORS.
When doctors had no answer, God had an answer for me... His answer was: "I have come to give you life and more abundantly." (John 10:10) "You can do ALL things through CHRIST who strenghten's you!" (Phillipians 4:13)
The Bible says that if you have faith the size of a grain of mustard (which is super small), you can tell a mountain to move and it will move.
If 2 or more come into agreement about something, it shall be done. I am agreeing with you that you will be healed.. and soon.
1. God said it
2. God promised it
3. He will do it
4. He will do it soon!
Post these somewhere and believe it and it shall be done.
I declare that you are healed in the Powerful and Wonderful Name that is above any other name... JESUS!
Having faith is believing the things that you have yet to see with your own eyes.
He can heal you right away or take some time (like He did with me), but He will do it... just trust Him.
Ok, honestly, I know ther is a god out there, an ultimate creator, but in my opinion, thinking got will magically wipe out your illness. if it works, is just a placebo effect or just timing. Please try to keep your miracle cures on this site earthly, thank you.
Your symptoms sound like severe, prolonged stress. It can really do a number on your body! Sleeplessness, lack of mental clarity, fatigue, low libido, and the dead give aways - stiffness, inflexibiliy, and neck pain. It sounds like your body/mind has been under some prolonged stress for awhile. This is not an overnight kind of issue. It happens over time.
I would try a few visits to a licensed massage therapist (about 1x per week for awhile) to relieve some of your muscle tension and stress at the same time. Try to stretch some, relax more, take some hot baths, give yourself more downtime and cut yourself more slack. Take good care of yourself. The effects of stress are cumulative and compounding if you are taking steps to keep it under control.
As your muscle tension starts to get under control, it will stop building up in your body and compounding so quickly (you've run out of room to put the tension!), your symptoms should slowly start to improve. (tension, stiffness, neck pain, then the mental cloudiness, and sleeping issues, then the fatigue and lethargy at work should start to lift. Libido should pick up by the end as well.)
See my post under "shoulder blade pain". The some of that info is relevant for you as well. I've seen the exact same symptoms over the last 10 years in literally hundreds of clients. The nice thing about having a massage therapist to resolve the tension and stress for you is that you don't have to find the energy to do it yourself. No matter how tired you may be, all you have to do is layback and relax. Seems simplistic but it's extremely effective.

Post your testimony when it comes! :)
I have seen God heal AIDS, cancer, relive the dead, etc.
I didn't believe in my faith.. and wow!.. it truly does work!
He can heal you today!
He has the answer!!!
