Loss of sensation

I have been experiencing a loss of sensation and weakness in my right leg on and off for a few months.  It has happened several times when I am just standing, never walking.  This morning was the latest.  I sit down and wait a few moments, probably not more than 30 seconds to 1 minute and then the feeling in my leg returns and I can stand up and walk.  There's never any warning, tingling or numbness or pain.  Just a funny feeling like I've stepped into a hole and then I realize that my leg has no feeling and no strength.

Am I having a stroke?

it could be possible that you are having symptoms of a stroke the loss of sensation  whether it be in your leg hand or face are some of the warning signs,  i strongly suggest that you see a neurologist, as i can tell you a stroke is not a fun thing after having one myself  because of  ignoring the warning signs and ended up losing the ability and use of my hand. please find a neurologist just to be sure this is not what it is

Hi Maryuno and welcome to the forum.

It sounds like Lateral Femoral Cutaneous Neuropathy, a chronic neurological condition involving damage from likely compression of the Lateral Femoral Cutaneous Nerve if you want to look it up and see if this is consistent with your symptoms. it's a nerve that goes from the spine to
the thigh.
Pain, numbness and weakness is experienced differently by everyone, so do not go necessarily with the strict descriptions offered .
It probably has to do with compression of the Lateral Femoral Cutaneous , if  indeed it's involved, and once the pressure reaches a certain threshold
then the nerve just gives.
Naturally removing the causes of the compression will be the answer.

The could be other explanations but this stands out for me.

Hope this helps.
