Low t3 and TSH
For years my doctors have not been taking my hormonal issues seriously. I have been misdiagnosed with PCOS, and my last conversation with my doctor concluded with her telling me that she thinks I have some sort of compulsive psychological disorder, i.e. she does not believe in the severity of my symptoms, which include (I'm a 21 y.o. female):
premature pubarche
dry skin (10+ years)
anxiety/depression (10+ years)
hyperhydrosis (10 years) and
extreme temperature sensitivity (10+ years)
constant hunger/ severe over eating (10 years)
moderate-severe fatigue (5+ years)
swelling of hands/feet (5+ years)
severe mood swings (4 years)
digestive issues - bloating, inflammation (3 years)
no sex drive
I have been (mis?)diagnosed with PCOS (diagnosed, then endo doc. expressed doubt) and diagnosed with anisicoria but because it was considered physiological, and because my prolactin levels came back normal and I don't suffer from headaches, my doctors have seen no reason to test for pituitary adenoma. They want to instead treat me for psychological issues with prescription, while I know the cause for my severe depression is social isolation because of the symptoms of my hormonal issues.
My most recent test results showed below normal range for t3 without elevated (in the lower range) TSH. (t4 was also in the low range) Is this a sign that the hypothalamus or pituitary gland may not be functioning correctly? If so, how should I communicate this to my doctors? Should I spend an enormous amount of money on an MRI if the doctors that are going to be analyzing it are already convinced that I don't have an adenoma?
What other diseases should I research that may be the cause of my hyperandrogenism and other symptoms? My glucose levels look okay, my estrogen levels are in the low range, I don't smoke and am relatively healthy (organic food, no prescriptions, occasional drinking, no smoking, BMI 25)
