Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
It is difficult to comment without examination. Lump behind the ear could be an abscess, folliculitis (hair follicle infection), lipoma (localized collection of fat), a cyst, an inflamed lymph node or a neurofibroma (localized harmless swelling in of nerve and connective tissue). In all probability abscess and folliculitis is ruled out. A CT scan would be diagnostic. Since you have dry scalp, watch the lump. Do not touch everyday but once in 10-15 days. If the lump increases in size, becomes painful, changes color, bleeds, changes shape or consistency or more similar lumps appear then consult a doctor. Take care!
Mine is movable and painless too- o have a very dry scalp and doc said it was probably from that but I still worry
Hi I had a bump on my arm for like three years, didn't know what it was but it did grow, moved around, so I went to the doctors to see if could get it removed, they told me it was fatty tissue built up on my arm and that it was not cancer, so was relieved, but he sent me to a specialist out of town to get it removed, it looked a little bit bigger then a grape, that was almost two years ago, and it hasn't grown back, but I hope this might help you a lil bit, good luck tho!!!!!
Thanks for your advice- I am 26 yr old female btw....
I just am scared that it's cancer....
Lymph Nodes do last a while when they're inflamed.
This is usually common in Men for some reason too.
If it starts to get BIGGER then thats the only thing that may warrent a trip to the Dr's again.
If it was a cycst it's usually painful to press in and a Dr would have had it drained if it got to a certain size.
Nothing you can do minus keep track of it! <3
Could it be a cyst? Just a guess.
