Maybe a swollen Submandibular Gland and face symptoms

Hi Im 24 years old ex-smoker for 5 years, 3 weeks ago i suddenly discovered that my left submandibular gland is bigger than the right one, my right one is the size probbably of a pea and my left is about as big as my thumb, i went to an ent 3 weeks ago and he told me its normal its that my left one is bigger than the other.
But 2 weeks ago i recently developed i dont know how to call it, I dunno if its facial numbness or weakness of my left side of face going down to the leftside of my neck. it doesnt feel numb or weak it just feels not normal, no pain. just it doesnt feel like my right side of my face and neck. By the way when i consulted the ENT he also gave my allergy medicine (Rhinocort)
Im really freaked out by salivary gland cancer, because thats all you see when you search this symptoms on the net. I really need help.

Yes, I'd be interested too to see what comes of this, because I too have a strange feeling in the left side of my face infromt of the ear, (almost numb feeling too) To the eye it's not even swollen looking but it feels a little bigger in front of my ear, and a teeny bit tender but I don't know if that because I have been touching it. It's been about 2 wks now. And I'm afraid to of what it could be. I hate to go in though for every little thing, because our insurance isn't good at all. I'm 33 and have never smoked, but lived with my dad smoking my first 25 years.

If it makes it easier for you (taking the pressure off), print out what I had said and take it to him/her.

Considering your age and your short years in smoking, I can understand why the ENT isn't worried about this. Since you are (worried), why not say to him, "Hey, this is my concern. Is there a surefire way that you can put this concern of mine to rest?" I should think with a CT scan, he/she can.
If you are able/willing to pay: what is the problem with this? State this.

There might be a problem but my instincts would say, not such to put you in a frightful state.

What is going on, could be normal (we aren't perfectly symmetrical) or at the worst, an infection/stone. I should think you would have other problems though, if it were the case.

ENT's are pretty darn sharp on the matter.
