Mee too

Hi there,
I have something that looks just like this and you indicate that it may be a genital wart. I have an anal tag and when I turn it it kind of looks like this with little finger-like extensions, I immediately thought it was wart related as I just had one removed from vagina in August. My dr looked at it and says she doesnt think its a wart but didnt tell me what it was. Might you know what could cause little finger-like growths to come out of an anal tag with white, fleshy somewhat hard tips? Could it be granulation tissue? or anal papillae? The whole tag area gets quite swollen after a bowel movement
My dr is sending me to a specialist but unfortunately I cant go till March so If possible Id like an idea of what this could be please?

Hi
Yes, you are anxious and rightly so. However on net, without examination a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given. What I can suggest is go for a swab test to rule out STD. If it is not a STD then it can be a hemorrhoid or a polyp. The other STDs which should also be thought of are chancroid, syphilis, and molluscum contagiosum. Again these can be diagnosed by a simple test. Go for a complete STD panel since you will not be consulting a specialist until March. At least this will rule out or diagnose a STD.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Maybe you can seek another opinion from a doctor who can examine you. Take care!

Thank you for your response
My "things" seemingly respond to creams in that they are no longer irritated but are still there, but after a few days not using the cream, the symptoms come back (burning itching, an irritated feeling). This has been bothering me for a month now. Is this typical of a hemmorhoid or more a wart?
Do you know what would explain the hardish whitish tip anatomically? My dr said it doesnt look like a wart but couldnt explain why it looked the way it did
I have terrible anxiety in case you havent noticed and this is making me crazy

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
A mass from anal area with projections like the one you explain could be anal piles or hemorrhoids. It could also be a genital wart as you have a history of one. Hemorrhoids will respond to seitz bath (sitting in a tub of warm water). They also respond to local hemorrhoidal creams. Increasing fibers and fluids in diet too helps. If this is a wart, it will not respons to the treatment.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
