For the past 8 years, at the beginning of menopause, I have been PLAGUED by yeast infections and vaginal wall thinness. (Before menopause I never had yeast infections.) My vaginal wall is so thin that sex is now impossible. Even Pap smears are a big deal.
About 3 years ago, I began losing my hair and now am bald. At the same time, I got uveitis in one eye making my vision 20/400 in that eye. A year later, I got uveitis in the other eye. Thankfully, cleared up by my eye doctor who had me take every test imaginable -- all negative.
I have a rash on my back, I am over a hundred pounds overweight -- even though I work out 5 days a week and eat reasonably well.
My thyroid tests normal for all tests. Everything tests normal.
Doctors tell me that I am unique and unusual. In health issues, that is NOT desirable.
My own theory is that it is somehow involved with massive yeast infections and hormones (including thyroid, estrogen, progesterone, and all the others) but that is a self diagnosis.
I do not have insurance and even though my doctors are cooperative and wonderful, to avoid too many visits, I try to self diagnose. Any insight would be appreciated. I am tired of being big, bald, sometimes blind and always itchy!
