More that two years looking for solution...

It's been more than two years looking for answers... and nobody can figure this out...

I get random head pain like a knife slashing down the side of my brain. It is brief - and worse when I am under stress. (Or should I say more frequent.) There is usually a continuing general headache - which sometime occurs on its own. I am not light sensitive - and I am not sound sensitive. The neurologists, neurosurgeons, endocrinologists, ents, opto-neurologists, and other docs I have seen have tried everything... and no answers...

Additionally I get dizzy when I am stressed. Everything is spinning - and I have had Vestibular testing - ruled out ENT... all back on the brain...

Both of these symptoms came on suddenly and severely in March 07 - and they have really taken over my life.

I do have a left side tremor - hand only. In that hand I have numbness on the bottom half all the way up to the elbow... They do not know if it is related or not. I also suffered hyperparathyroidism (2.5 cm adenoma) and Thyroid cancer (1.7 cm tumor) - and had surgery to remove those in June 08. I am still going through radiaton treatment for that. So - the docs are not sure what effects are from the very high calcium levels and so on.

Actually the cancer was an accidental find while trying to solve the mystery issue.

Last piece to my puzzle is that I also have a 1.9 cm pineal cyst in my brain - and nobody wants to cut into that unless there is no other option... It does not look like has grown - and it does not look like it is impeading the flow in the brain --- Hmmm -

Any thoughts would be awesome. Two years ago - I was a 36 year old active mother of 6 - in the gym 5 days a week... living a normal happy life... Now, I am cripled by this and unable to break free of it. (Yet - that is.. yet...)

Thank you.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Your feet turning blue can be due to venous stasis, venous thrombosis or your muscles contracting due to pain such that there is decreased blood supply to your feet. I am not very sure why this is happening. The only possible explanation is ‘Raynaud’s Syndrome’, either the primary or the secondary variant. The secondary variant is associated with autoimmune diseases. This disorder is characterized by episodic contraction of the blood vessels in the fingers and toes.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

I appreciate the time and ideas put here.

I will check out the link. I have had three Neuroserg. tell me that the cyst is the last possible cause - as it does not clearly bock anything. The cancer treatments - they are relatively recent - and the parathyroid was removed in 6-08, and calcium levels have all gone back down. *But - it seems that I have continued to develop kidney stones - as of last Friday I have three new ones... :-( [I am up to 15 in the past year and a half].

All this - and to top it off - probably unrelated... I had foot surgery in Dec. 08 - and it just will not heal. It actually seems worse! It isn't infected or anything - but it is painful and swollen - and my foot turns purple if I put it down or try to stand on it! It has been more than 9 weeks now.

Call me broken lady! I am now getting worried that the foot thing will delay my next cancer treatment in March....

Any help is appreciated...

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Headache is the most common symptom of a pineal cyst. There is a similar discussion on this forum which may help you: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/297313
Though pineal cyst can be a cause of your headaches, they could also be tension headaches or cluster headaches. Dizziness is possible due to your cancer treatment and parathyroid issues.

Hope this helps. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

ill tell ya what sis,,,my father had thyroid cancer, and had to be put on meds for his tsh  levels to maintain proper levels, exct,,im sure you understand how that stuff works,,,well,,,he was never, never the same after that!
the thyroid kinda acts like the bodies regulater/thermastat exct...and when you dont have one anymore, your all messed up...and thats prob your biggest problem right there.
if they cannot fix your problems,,why dont they at least get you on some meds to cover the symptoms up anyway?
