It has been proven in some clinical studies that RLS can be a symptom of the hereditary condition called vein disease. Do you or either of your parents or close relatives have varicose veins? If so, it's worth your while to get a consult with a Dr. who specializes in the treatment of vein disease. It is possible to have this condition and not yet have visible varicosities. They can verify a positive or negative dianosis for vein disease with a simple, non-invasive ultrasound of the legs. Usually insurances will cover this with only a co-pay on your part. Worth checking out.
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Unexplained aches and pains coming on and off could be due to fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Crohn’s disease, H pylori infection, anemia, liver disorders, diabetes, hypothyroidism, Vit B12 or Vit D deficiency and due to calcium or magnesium deficiency. It can also be due to sleep related disorders. Hence, consult the sleep specialist again. Also consult a doctor to rule out other causes. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Take care!
I too have RLS but I have found if I eat a banana and have at least 1 glass of milk a day it helps. Get the potassium that your body needs. Also take an aleve or advil before you go to bed. When I had my sleep study done they gave me the tips. Hope this helps you.
I have RLS too. I think it's just from moving so much when you sleep and your other muscles don't get to relax as much, cause I know when ever my bf massages my legs before I go to sleep I don't feel the need to move so much and I feel completely rested in the mornings. Try getting him to rub your legs, especially the backs, before you go to sleep and see if it helps any.
