As usual, Laura1967, your advice is on the money.

From the symptoms it is unlikely to be a fungal infection, excema, or some other skin condition. Do not be concerned about systemic conditions involving the heart, kidneys and liver.

This sounds like a potential lyme disease situation, and a round circle with a bulls-eye is the indication. If this is the case she needs immediate antibiotic treatment to save her from a lifetime of misery.

You are a great daughter to be so concerned about your mom and she should be very proud of you and you should be proud of yourself.

On a short term basis an insect sting can be treated with a paste of monodosium glutamamate (the meat tenderizer accent).

I would also rule out lymes disease and co-infections, IF it looks like a bulls eye rash.

Hello,
From the symptoms,it can be a fungal infection, eczema or some other skin condition. Also if she is having swelling then an allergic reaction due to an insect bite and the various systemic conditions esp involving the heart, kidneys and liver have to be ruled out.I would suggest that you request your mother to show herself to her doctor as it can be confirmed only after examination.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted.
