My temperature has been fluctuating for a couple days

Two nights ago I started feeling really hot so i took my temperature and it was 100.2, then i thought I was feeling better about an hour or 2 later, took my temperature and it was 100.7. The next morning when I woke up i had a little bit of a headache, but felt ok otherwise. I took my temperature and it was 98.6. I took it one more time about an hour later and it was 98.1. I felt ok so I went to work. Then a few hours after I got home from work, around 9, I took my temperature again because I started to feel hot again. But it was normal, 98.6. But about an hour later I took it again and it was 100.4. Then 45 minutes later I took it and it was 101.1. Then I went to sleep, woke up at about 2:30 a.m. drenched in sweat, took my temperature, it was 101.2. Then I woke up in the morning, had a headache like the previous morning, took my temperature, it was 98.6, a few minutes later it was 98.1, then about 5 minutes after that it was 98.2. Any ideas on why it keeps changing? And When it gets to 100 or higher I feel sick, so its not like I'm feeling ok and just wondering. I just keep getting worse at night and I'm fine in the morning other than the headache.

Temperature fluctuations can be associated with Thyroid disorders, Auto Immune disease, Hormonal changes, Bacterial and Viral infections and so forth. It's possible that your immune system is currently trying to fight an infection from invading your body. A fever can cause a morning headache but so can Sleep Apnea. I am inclined to think it may be an infection trying to manifest.. If it persist more than 48 hours or your Temp. exceeds 102 degrees I would recommend seeing your Physician. If your taking Tylenol or something similar ; that can cause your Temp. to go down temporarily and then go up again when the medication wears off. I prefer not to take anything for a fever unless it reaches 102 degrees because the fever is an important part in ridding your body of the infection. However, if you feel really bad but still need to work then by all means take some. Hope you feel better soon.   :-)))
