Hi.
I have read this in journals that nausea is a common problem while pregnancy...but I am not pregnant....

Actually I know this has happened to me because of my prolonged stress...But i wonder now i am leading a happy life and nausea is still a problem.....

At starting it i use to experience nausea while going out on lunch and dinner...because of this i have stopped going out...but now this is a constant problem and has increased as i feel sick while eating at home also and particularly while eating chapati, fried stuff.. i am completely fine with rice, fruits and fluids..

I have also consulted a physician and i am on medication "EXILOR"...believe me this has really helped me a lot but don't know why i am again experiencing sickness while eating for the past few months....
I am really afraid whether this problem has a permanent solution or not????
Anyways thanks for the detailed knowledge...i'll surely visit my doctor soon and will keep you posted about it....

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
In females, nausea when eating of at the sight of food is a common symptom on pregnancy. If you are in the childbearing age then your pregnancy status should be checked. Other possibilities are gastroesophageal reflux disease, viral gastroparesis, chronic idiopathic intestinal pseudo-obstruction, liver/gall bladder disease, medications, inner ear diseases like labrynthitis, ulcers/gastritis, metabolic like diabetes, hypothyroidism and adrenal diseases or neurological causes. Cyclic vomiting syndrome is also stated to cause constant nausea.

I will sincerely advise you to consult a physician and get these possibilities ruled out one by one. Detailed and comprehensive lab and radiological testing is required to confirm a diagnosis.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

My 1st question would be...are you pregnant? The second would be...Are you having stress and/or anxiety in your life?  CuteNsweeT suggested a snack, starch or sugars...good idea...bananas, oranges, a handful of dry HoneyNut cereal. Slowly re-introduce foods. Stay away from fried or spicy foods.  Good luck...I hope you're feeling better soon!

I get that when I've left it too long between eating. You start to feel really hungry but then can't eat anything because it makes you sick... I think it's something to do with blood sugar levels. Try eating before you get too hungry; just a snack, something quick that you don't have to cook (the smell of cooking can make you nauseous too), something a little sweet or starchy, so it gets into the bloodstream quicker. I found that helped me.
