Just spoke to doc, the sphenoid sinuses are the extensively thickened ones, and lesser in the frontal sinuses. Why is it tingling in the maxillary area? That's where the pressure is, I do sometimes get pain next to my nose, under my eye, kinda like a toothache. What do you think?
Don't sell yourself short. 35 isn't old. You are still a young person. I'm glad you are on antibiotics. You should be on them a while. The blood vessels that feed any of the sinus (you didn't say which sinus you had problems with)cavities are very very small. The blood and antibiotics have to get there one little cell at a time. Often the body gets rid of the antibiotic before much actually gets there to do the job, so it will take a while for enough antibiotics to get there and do it's job. I am unfamiliar with your symptomology, but problems with sinus can cause headaches, pain, tingling of the skin, twitching of skin around the eyes and nose, tenderness, swelling, runny nose, post nasal drip, coughing, watery eyes, itching, and the list goes on. If your primary complaint is tingling on the face, then a sinus problem can cause it. Other things also cause tingling and tics (spams) on the face such as Magnesium insufficiency. Hope this helps.
Hi Demi, they did the brain MRI because of facial tingling, they were looking for MS. I also told the technician about my occipial headaches when they asked me about the MS. Being both are considered to hereditary to a certain point, MS on maternal side, and also migraines. The MRI showed no lesions, just the sinus issue. I have noticed that the pressure isn't there on the affected side since starting the antibiotics, but the tingle is still there but not as bad. The dental part, I have a upper tooth on the affected side that has had a root canal done on it about 20 years ago, it has broke down to the gum line, asked dentist to just remove it, had alot of trouble with it when the canal was started, kept sending me back home with antibiotics saying they couldn't finish it because of infection, this tooth is where the tingling is on my face, I also have to add, this is strange but, I never had a wart in my life, when I was pregnant with my son I developed a wart on my face, exactly where the tingling is, I had it removed after my son was born, It was the size of a pencil eraser. I don't know what to do next. I know that the doc said he doubts its MS because I have had this for 6 years already and it would have shown up by now on the MRI, he said lesions show before symptoms do in 99% of the cases. Let me know what you think. I do still have the shoulder and neck pain on that side, ever so often, I just think I'm getting old, I'll be 35 the 19th. Over the hill!!!!
Thanks for your info, let me know what you think. THANKS!
