No Diagnosis: Low grade fever, swollen lymph nodes, for many months
I'm hoping someone out there might be experiencing these same things and might be able to help me.
For seven months I have had a low grade fever (usually between 99.0-100.5), swollen lymph nodes in my neck, arthritis in my neck, and abdominal pain with diarrhea intermittently with constipation and a total lack of appetite with weight loss. I also have occassional night sweats and chills and extreme fatigue, and my urine is a thick dark yellow (which I drink only water and it used to always be clear). I also have had chronic, severe back pain for several years that has gotten worse since I've been sick.
All my blood work and stools have come back normal, no sign of inflammation or infection. I have been tested for everything under the sun: mono, lyme's, RA, lupus, west nile, cat scratch, thyroid, molds, tubuculosis, crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and a few others that I don't even know what they are. All negative.
A CT four months ago found lesions and increased blood in my pelvis and uterus. Laparoscopic surgery showed that I had massive scar tissue that had attached my colon to my uterus. They do not know what caused that since I've never had surgery before and it wasn't endometriosis. The surgeon felt certain that this scar tissue was causing my symptoms, but they have no idea what caused the scar tissue in the first place. I had a colonoscopy and upper GI that came back normal. Gallium scan came back normal.
Everything is normal normal normal and I'm so tired of hearing that! I am definitely NOT functioning normally.
Has anyone else experienced symptoms like these? If so, do you have a diagnosis? Do you have any suggestions for me? Please help - I'm desperate.

Well I finally got a diagnosis last week. I have human parvovirus 19. My doctor said it can make adults very sick as I have been and can last for at least a year. And there is no treatment. From what I've been reading online it seems there's a lot of people diagnosed with this and have been suffering for years. I hope that will not be me! I don't know how long I can continue to live like this...

Since all tests have come back normal, it would be good if the lymph nodes could be biopsied. This would throw some light on the disease causing them to swell. As Surgimenopause said, cancer should be ruled out. It could be a lymphoma or leukemia.

Haven't they performed a biopsy on the nodes? I have been sick for a long time too. i hope you find answers and lets us all know take care. The only thing they found for me is a kidney stone, high cortisol level..but said wouldnt be cause of my problems. Are you a very stressed person and have you tested for any std's?
After receiving new amalgam fillings I got all kinds of symptoms, one of them was swollen lymph nodes in the neck. It persisited 2 yrs till I had had all my metal fillings taken out by a specialist who tok great care not to expose me unnecessarily for the
mercury in the fillings.i was diagnosed with a metal allergy and possibly mercury intoxication.
With swollen lymph nodes in your neck, have they ruled out Hodgkins disease? Done any cancer marker testing?
Have they done any other endocrine testing besides thyroid, like ADH (antidiuretic hormone which has to do with urine output), growth hormone, FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) (ruling out pituitary disorder another words, like a tumor it is said one in five people have). What about your calcium and vit. D levels? A lot of people who have even tiny tumors called microadenomas do not function normally. No sign of inflammation- did they test your cortisol then as well?
Have they done blood testing for kidney function, an IVP (intravenous pyelogram), calculated a your GFR (glomerular filtration rate) of your kidneys? Did the gallium scan include a look at your liver?
Since it is possible for endometriosis to be microscopic (I had two laporotomies and was told they can't see it all or guarantee they got it all because of this), how can they be so sure endometriosis was not causing adhesions?
