No real diagnosis with v. long prescription

My girlfriend and I are on holiday in Thailand - 10 days ago we were in Laos where she developed a fever which kept her in bed for the best part of 2 days. Although she did not vomit during that time the fever was accopanied by the usual nausea, lack of appetite, weakness, muscle ache etc. along with stomach pain. She took paracetemol over those 2 days which she's never had an adverse reaction to back home. Although the fever came and went she continues to have a severe lack of appetite, nausea and often vomits after trying to eat. Even holding fluids down is a problem at times and normally she loves her food. It's now been 9 days since she developed the fever and is still having trouble keeping the v. v. Little food she does eat down. She's lost a significant amount of weight but other than that, the mild abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, slight dehydration (brown wee) she appears healthy. After visiting a doctor in Thailand today he gave a rather vague (and rushed)diagnosis of general stomach bug and possible gastritus and gave us a rather large shopping bag of medication to take home:

Norflocin 400mg x6
Domperidone 10mg x20
Omeprazole 20mg x20
Simethicone 80mg x20

I've had a quick search on the internet but would really appreciate an opinion on these drugs and this combination in treating what seem like v. vague symptons.

Also blood pressure's fine but no other tests were done

Any opinion would be appreciated. Thanks v. much

Thanks v. much - I was a little concerned as i'd read the antibiotic had a long list of side effects and would normally only be used as a last resort after other meds fail? And wasn't sure about the omeprazole for peptic ulcers either but all makes a little more sense now. Keeping the pills down might be a problem but will give it a go and see if it makes a difference. Thanks again

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Well, the medication provided is correct for gut infection-it has something to control infection, an antivomiting agent, something to reduce bloating and acidity. If this does not help, then your girlfriend needs to be tested for hepatitis and typhoid.
Hope this helps. Take care!
