Non-healing scab

Dear Doctors,
I have had both Squamous Cell (frequently) and Melanoma (once) over the past year.  Usually on my Squamous extractions, I am healed within three days.  I had a Squamous removed 10 days ago, and the scab is still oozing puss and hurts at times.  Is this just an infection?
