Not motivated, feeling fatigued, nauseous have not had food in 3 days.

I have been having problems with not being motivated, feeling nauseous and fatigued. This happened about 3 months ago and lasted for about 2 weeks. It is now back again. I feel terrible and do not know what to do. I have been to my doctor several times and was given a prescription for prozac 20 mg. I have been taking now for a week. Right now I am the sole provider for my family and I am hardly working. Could this cause me to feel this bad. There are times when I feel that there is something seriously wrong with me because of these symptoms and it makes me sick to my stomach. At times it brings me to tears because I panic and feel there is something wrong with me. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, sorry to hear of your condition.  I know what you are going through as I am myself and a bit more. My main complaint was that I just couldn't sleep.  Sometimes not at all. I found that it's from the prozac.  I am in the process of weaning myself off.  Don't do that yourself without your doc's permission as you could cause more problems.  Discuss your problems with him/her.  Good luck

Hi, It sounds to me like maybe you should have your thyroid checked out.  Has your doc done that?  Most do it before they put you on meds for depression.  It sounds to me that you do have depression.  I also struggled with this for a long time.  Most depression meds take anywhere from 2 - 4 weeks to start working - so don't go off the meds without talking to your doc.  It could cause your symptoms to worsen.  It sucks that it takes that long but it does.  Sometimes you have to keep trying different doses and different meds before you start to feel better. Depression has lots of physical symptoms as well as emotional problems.  But as the sole bread winner of your family, right now, you need to concentrate on you and finding out what is wrong and feeling better.  For the first few weeks, I slept alot - and I know how much pressure is on you b/c I am a single mom - and I'm the only one paying the bills.  It is hard but believe me, if this is the problem, you WILL feel good again one day and you WILL see the sun shine again.  Good luck to you and keep posting....it helps when there are others to commiserate with. Best wishes to you.
