Numbness and Tingling On Right Side Of Body

I'm 19 years old and about three days ago I was admitted to the ER because of a burning like headache on the left side of my head which caused a pain in my neck and ear and then my left leg became weak and numb. When I arrived at the ER they took me to get a cat scan and they said that everything was normal and then they put me on an IV on my right hand to ease the pain, when they woke me up about an hour later they removed the IV and asked me if I had been on blood thinners and I responded "no"  and they said that I was bleeding very quickly but said it may have just been from the IV and that the headache was caused by lack of sleep and dehydration and they sent me home. When I was home I quickly got in bed and fell asleep, when I awoke my right arm was numb, and upon standing I noticed that from the tip of my toes to where my neck meets meets my head on my right side was numb and so was the area where I felt the headache (area around eye).  Now I really dont know how to explain the numbness, its like I can feel when something touches me but instead of getting the feeling like I normally do it feels like little needles. I have explained this to my parents but my mom said it was probably from the IV hitting a nerve, but the IV was in my hand ??? and if it did why did it affect my right side. I am just very curious of what this may be ... I looked around on the internet and found that this can be caused by a lack of b12 vitimin... which I am trying to get more of now... but should I go back to the doctor or will this eventually fade???

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You must go back to the doctor and get this evaluated. There is a chance of compression of cervical spinal nerve high up causing one sided numbness or there is a lesion or bleed in the brain. Another possibility is Vitamin B12 deficiency. Underactive thyroid and diabetes too should be ruled out. Also it could be something like Lyme’s disease or MS. Please consult a neurologist and get this evaluated by blood tests, MRI of the brain and cervical spine.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

You need to have some bloodwork done to determine if your are deficient in B12 as well as anything else..  I would also suggest to your parents that they take you to a neurologist for evaluation of your symptoms which would not be caused by the IV hitting a nerve.
