Numbness in hands and sharp pains in forearm

I have had a Neurologist perform a nerve conduction test and the results came back normal (no problems indicated).  My question is, since the condition persists and is geting worse, what else can be the problem?

Note:  My hands are not cold.  In addition to the pain in the forearms and the numbness, I also have limited movement of the fingers while this is occurring.  The problem is most prevalent in the mornings when I wake up, but has occurred sporadically during the day.  Also, as the problem has gotten worse with my fingers, my toes are now also beginning to have the same symptoms.

Other, possibly related condition:  I have had neck problems resulting from a car accident.  C5, C6, and C7 disks are bulging and I have had regular neck pains for years.  However, the numbness and pain in the arms are a recent problem.

This is exactly what is wrong with me. My husband thinks I am crazy though. Last night the itching was so bad in my hands that I took a hair brush and clawed them.
I really can't stand it much more, at church I am scratching my hand because I am sitting up at night the pain and itching causes me not to be able to sleep. If you find out what this is I would love to know, Contact bumwhisenant @windstream.net My poor husband told me to use more lotion. He just doesn't have a clue.

I experience sharp- quick rushes of pain in my fingers and forearms.   the feeling fades quickly and it can happen when I get slightly upset.I don't realize to much numbness, but there is a little bit.

The numbness of the hands is not a tingling feeling; the skin of my hands are totally numb to any sensations (no sense of touch). However, sometimes while the numbness of the skin occurs, there is an uncomfortable burning sensation that runs through the bones of my hands up to the forearms (usually while laying down).
Laying down for rest causes the numbness to re-occur, with a tingling sensation which progressively worsens to a full, no feeling, numbness. As my grip is weak during this time, I cannot massage the symptoms away myself. Only time seems to end it or sometimes it helps if someone else massages my hands.  Also, no amount of repositioning myself while resting seems to ease the symptoms. The numbness could last for hours.
The other time the numbness occurs is when I am upright in a chair and my hands are slightly elevated above the lap, either holding an object or having the arms resting on a table.

The toes on the other hand (no pun intended), just tingle with a prickly sensation. The tingling doesn't affect me as much as my hands do.  The tingling of the toes only occurs when I have stood up most of the day or if I sit down to rest. The tingling feeling only last for a short period of time.

Yes, I had a nerve conduction test done recently and was told by the nurse that everything was fine, however, I have since learned from the Dr. that he never saw the report.  He is now waiting to get the report. I may be having more tests conducted on me in the near future. I am waiting for an appointment.
