Should I take him to the ER even though all he has is a temp and he's a little fussy and wont sleep for long or wait 'till the morning and time him to see his pediatrician?
And, no one has been sick in the house for months, nor does he come in contact with any child that's been sick or really any child in general.
How ever, myself, his father and aunt go to school, so we do come in contact with others.
And I'm not sure if he's teething or anything because he has about 12 teeth already and chews on everything.
Hi
Welcome to the forum!
If your one year old has no other symptoms except fever and is active and playing in between when he is fever free, then in all probability he has a viral fever. The first day at times the fever does not touch baseline normal. You need to keep a temperature chart. Give a medicine to lower the fever when it comes. Give plenty of fluids. Sponge the child to bring the fever down. Generally viral fever takes about 3-5 days to settle.
If the fever persists in this high range 102.7 to 101 then consult a doctor, preferably a pediatrician.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
