PAINS ACROSS MY STOMACH AND AROUND TO MY BACK ?

Lately I am being woken up out my sleep in the morning with a pain that goes under my rib cage on both sides, I have been to see my GI doctor who gave me a endoscopy and said, I had Barrett's Esohapgus, but we already knew that. He said, it MIGHT be IBS and gave me bentyl ( that stuff dries out your mouth, eyes and I don't like taking it ) I have been under a lot of stress lately because my sister-in-law just passed away from lung cancer. But these pains I've been having are strange, one morning the pain could be on my right side going around to my back, other days its in the middle of my stomach and other mornings it could feel like cramps. I am 58 and have had these pains come and go over the last 15 years, but not one doctor seems to know whats causing them. They all seem to be guessing. My blood work was fine. And I just had a ultra sound on my stomach and was told I had a fatty liver ? One doctor said, it was stress, another said, it was IBS, and another GI doctor said, it might be my liver or pancreus(spelled wrong) I am going crazy trying to find out what this pain is from, I only drink a couple of beers now and then (4 beers) and that's a whole other story. Drink the beer, run a 99.8 fever the next day, then it goes back to 98.6. I had a colonoscopy about 7 years ago and it was fine. I do suffer from anxiety disorder that was under control until my sister-in-laws death. Then theres the issue with my health care. I am on disability and have Medicare and Medicaid. Not many if any here will take the Medicaid, so theres an issue of payment. They told me you don't pay after you reach you deductible. That takes almost a whole year. So I'm stuck. If anyone knows what might be  causing these pains, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes when they did the ultrasound on my stomach they checked my gallbladder and my kidneys and said, they looked normal. I've been drinking 4 beers since I was 21 and never had a problem. When the weather is nice I ride a bike 4 miles a day, I was losing weight, but after everything that has gone on I kind of got away from my routine. I use to eat a lot of raw fruits and veg., but I stopped because they were starting to give me bad gas. I take Nexium 40mg and Xanax for the anxiety.

1.  What is the status of your gallbladder?  I didn't see anything about that.
2.  Not all people's livers can handle ANY alcohol.  Four beers would be me trying to get smashed; usually I have 1-2 glasses of wine about four times a year.
3.  Fatty liver can mean you need to lose weight.  You might want to consider a near-vegetarian diet with a small portion of meat about 3 times a week.  Eat lots of greens and colorful vegetables and cook with olive oil.  Try to find fruits and vegetables you enjoy raw and add them to the mix.  Buy organic.  Do eat nuts if you are able - walnuts and almonds are very healthy.  You just need a handful.  Pecans are great on salads.  Pay attention to the amount of dressing you use as it can add a lot of calories.
4.  Walk for exercise.  Try yoga or Pilates.  These types of exercises are safe and can help with digestion, muscle comfort, posture (which helps all the body functions work right) and sense of well being.
5.  Pain-relieving supplements are calcium and vitamin D at night and magnesium citrate in the morning.  The mag will treat any constipation you may have.

I'm really sorry about your sister. It can create a lot of stress for a long time. This doesn't help your health. Take it easy. Have you had your kidneys checked? The blood tests for that are BUN and creatinine. I would think they would have done those tests. Sometimes the pain can radiate around like that. I wonder about your gallbladder too did the ultrasound pick that up too? They gave me the same baloney about IBS. Bentyl didn't do a thing for me but IBS wasn't my problem.  The fact that you have had it so long seems like it could be the gallbladder, liver or kidneys. But, maybe doing an elimination diet to see if you have a food allergy or problem with too much fat in the diet or something like that may help. You just remove one food group like dairy for a few weeks (you can substitute vanilla soy or almond milk) and see if that helps if not replace it and try another group like wheat gluten or corn. Stress really causes a lot of problems for me because I have a migraine variant. It used to make me throw up all night. Meds have helped. So, I don't know how much anxiety/stress is playing a part in this since your sister passed but it doesn't help. Try meditation or something calming like that every day. We actually switched our whole diet. I don't know if you are willing to do that. It is a whole plant based diet and no added oil. It has been known to help a lot of people . If you want to know more about that look up the DVD or streaming on Netflix called Forks over Knives or go to drmcdougall.com and see the free diet and discussion board and free nutritionist etc. It has helped us lose weight, better blood pressure, lower cholesterol, etc. Some people have reversed arthritis and there is data that says that people reverse altheroschlerosis of the arteries and type II diabetes. Dr. McDougall has a book called The Starch Solution. I am recommending this to anyone with stomach problems, intestingal,, cholesterol and type II diabetes and of course cholesterol and lowering the risks of cancer especially colon. The reason I bring up diet other than general health is that if it is IBS or some other diet related issue or intestinal etc. it may help a lot. But it takes some getting used to.  Let me know if I have helped at all.
