Pain in the ribs for a year straight, pain getting worse over time

Hi,
For the past entire year i have had ribcage pain in the same spot.
Every time i move or even just move my arm it hurts, and i can breathe in too deep, cough, or laugh without it hurting.
It feels almost as if theres a gigantic bruise there but there has never been any physical appearance of anything wrong (such as bruises, swelling, skin changes etc.).
I cant remember any significant event of what could have possibly started my rib pain, yet it seems to get worse all the time.
Can you please help me diagnose what my problem could be??

Thank You SO Much,
-Adrienne C.

you could also see a chiropractor. sometimes a rib is out of place and cause you pain. if that doesnt fix it then call your md.

Hi :-)

Where does it hurt? Is it close to your breastbone? The most common causes of pain in the rib cage are : Bruised, broken, or fractured ribs; Costochondritis, which is inflammation of the cartilage near the breastbone; Osteoporosis; and Pleurisy, which hurts when you breathe deeply, but doesn't hurt if you bend or twist. All in all, since you've been having the pains for a year, you really should see a Dr as it could be something that's easily rectified or something that needs attention. Hope that helps.

Best Regards
Sarah
