Pain in toes, fingers, abdomen and groin

Over past week I started experiencing sharp pain in my big toes and inner balls of my feet. Big toes are numb except a burning pain and feeling a needles. Hurts for sheets to even touch them, much less walk. Experiencing similar but lesser pain in my finger tips and hands. Some times the discomfort stretches all the way up my left arm or left leg. This pain was at first uncomfortable but over the course of a little over a week it has become almost unbearable. The only way I can get my feet to stop hurting is if I bring my feet together forming a V shape with both legs, essentially bringing my feet close together. Over about the same course of time my appetite has dropped off and I've lost 7 pounds from lack of eating due to nausea (now weighing 159). At the same time I have been experiencing discomfort in my abdomen and my tummy visibly shakes from my own heart beat. My groin is also in pain and over last 72 hours my scrotum spontaneously developed a LOT of vericose veins, dark ones, and the veins on my penis bulge even when flaccid. This started happening most pronounced on the right side of my scrotum and penis. My scrotum skin is red and mottled and tender to the touch and it feels like the blood just won't leave that area except when laying flat. Getting an erection is now painful and achy near the right base of my penis.

I haven't had any sexual activity in about a year, so not an STD and I was confirmed clean before then.

Yesterday, I had a urologist PA look at my genitals and do a unrinalysis, which came back normal. She said it wasn't anything to be concerned about, but since yesterday the pain has become much more uncomfortable.

Local GP ordered a CT skin of abdomen and groin with contrast drank and injected into my veins. She said it looks normal.

Still waiting on bloodwork and fecal test to rule anything out there.

Oddly, I ran into someone in the waiting area that said she was experiencing the exact same problems in the same areas (minus the scrotal bloodflow issue, naturally). She said it turned out to be a vein blockage and they didn't figure that out till she had a heart attack at 29 (I'm 33). The CT scan turned up no problems with my veins (I have them) according to the GP but I'm still in a lot of pain so very nervous.

What in the world could be going on with me with all these symptoms hitting at once? Related somehow? Let me know if you need more details or the CT scans.

Thanks for your help!

Really nothing but elimination diet.  But seems you're doing that already.  Basically, one starts eating bland foods and waiting to see if anything reacts - then adding one food at a time like 3 or 4 days later to see if there is a reaction.... like with feeding a baby, sorry.  - Meanwhile you might try natural anti-inflammatories like: boswelia,  bromelain, echinacea,  licorice root, Vit. C and Vit. E.  -  Glad that you are feeling better -  I hope you continue to do so.

Try cutting out, or keep to a very minimum all foods that contain high amounts of purine.  These are cauliflower, broccoli, meats, nuts, celery, you will probably find more high purine foods on the web.

If your joints problems are because of arthritic problems this should help.

I presume that you have not had any new footwear that has caused your feet problem.  Ill fitting shoes can cause pressure on the toes.
Do you do any workouts in the gym and specifically on a treadmill?

Out of desperation for lack of answers (yet hundreds of dollars in doc fees), for the past week I've completely cut out anything in my diet that is refined (including gluten and dairy) and I've sworn off alcohol. My symptoms have greatly diminished even in that short a span of time. I'm wondering if I could have been having some sort of massive allergic/inflammation reaction to what I had been eating.

Still have some mild lingering pain in my abdomen, but if that clears out over the next week as well, I'm going to chalk this up to something very wrong in my diet.

What I would love to do is get tested for any allergies I might have, but I have "non-allergies" as an allergist I saw called them. He doesn't know a way to test me since I don't produce a histamine response to anything. Any clues what kind of test I could get that would pinpoint what I'm "non-allergic" to? (just saying that sounds ridiculous to me)

Glad your blood count is okay... wonder what's causing the problem.  Perhaps you should see a Vascular surgeon - they specialize in varicose veins.

I'm wondering about the hemochromatosis. I already know my total iron binding capacity is low and recently I realized I eat a several high iron foods regularly. I also take a vitamin C supplement which I didn't realize increases iron absorption. This may have been too much for my body to handle.

More tests are still pending.

I'm thinking a blood pressure problem or Hemochromatosis - iron overload disease - very common in men.  Have your doctor check your ferritin levels - many times when they do a CBC they don't check for iron overload. - I affects the privates as well. (PS my grandson has Hemochromatosis).

If you do not know anything about the illness, why are you bothering posting such a reply?

I am not a doctor and I do not know about CT scans.

But what you describe with the really painful toes and joints sounds like you may have an arthritic inflammatory disorder called Gout.

As you have had your urologist check you out in that area and the CT scan shows no problems, go back to your doctor and ask for a blood test to be taken to find out if you have this problem.  If it is confirmed that you suffer from gout, your doctor will prescribe the right medication for you and hopefully will give you information with regard to your diet and which foods to avoid.

Have you had your urine checked for any abnormalities?

Groin pain can be from arthritis in the hips
