Today I woke up with a pain in my upper right side of my chest its like beneath my breast. The pain comes and goes. I don't have my gallbladder just letting u know just in case. Its been hrs with this pain and I don't know what to do. Should I go to the emergency room or just wait. It doesn't hurt when I breathe it just hurts no matter what I do. thanks

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
There are two possibilities. One is costochondritis and the other is adhesions. Post gall bladder surgery adhesions and scarring do happen and cause unexplained pain. If you press at the point where there is pain and if it causes pain on pressure then probably it is costochondritis. The third possibility is a severe duodenal ulcer. Please consult a doctor immediately to examine and diagnose the cause. Take care!

Please see the doctor or go to the ER.  I have been having (from just reading) something that could be a similar experience.  I do not have a gallbladder and was experiencing terrible pain underneath my right breast and it ended up being a gallstone that was in my stomach.  Unfortunately, no one here can tell you what it is, we can only tell you to please decide to go to the doctor or ER.  Just so you know I ended up going to the ER, and I'm glad I did.  I'm so sorry you are feeling terrible, I do know how it feels to have pain all the time.

Please post and let us know what you decide, I truly hope you feel better very soon!
