Persistent Sore Throat

For the past two months, I have had a terrible sore throat that will not go away.  I have been put on antibiotics twice since this began, and they help while I am taking them.  But within a few days of being off the antibiotics, the sore throat comes right back.  I don't have a cold or any sort of nasal thing going on.  There are white spots in the back of my mouth, but the tests came back negative for strep and mono.  Any idea as to what this could be?  Thanks!

This is exactly what I am having for last almost 2 months! The damn thing just refuses to go away. I am having the blood check done tomorrow. Any progress at your end?

Do you still have tonsils. If you do that could be the problem.I used to get the white spots and pain when I still had tonsils. After removal I rarely get a sore throat. Good Luck.
