Pimples in throat and mouth

I am 53 years old. A year ago or so I woke up with these little pimples in my mouth and tha back of my throat. It feels like I have sandpaper on the back of my tongue. I have been to my PCP and he took a swab and gave me Cipro. The swab was negative and the Cipro did nothing. He sent me to see a ENT and he put me on a throat spray and still nothing. I saw a second ENT and he had no idea what it was or what was causing it. Any ideas ?

I have been taking Nexium 40mg. 2X a day for the last year or longer. The nexium helps, but every once in awhile I do still have some reflux. I have been seeing a GI doctor for the last 10 yrs. . I told him about it last time I saw him and he looked in my mouth and shrugged it off. I have to go back to him next week to make a appointment for a Endoscopy and a Colonoscopy. The Colonoscopy is about a year overdue since my last one, which he told me I had Spastic Colon. My last Endoscopy was two years ago and he said, everything looked fine. I due have Gerds, Barrett's Esophagus and I had a small ulcer which he treated. I complained  to my PCP for 7yrs. before he sent me to see the GI doctor who ask me why I waited so long. I told him my PCP had put me on Tagamet 400mg. which did nothing. He just shook his head and said, all of this could have been avoided. It to late now the damage is already done.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Sometimes the acid that comes up from the stomach during acid reflux causes similar symptoms. Omeprazole is a good drug to combat this. Along with it you can try over the counter antacids. However I would recommend you see a doctor and take medication under a doctor’s supervision. Avoid heavy meals. Avoid too much of caffeine, tea, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones. Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal. Raise the head end of the bed by pillows to 30 degrees. Go to bet at least 2 hours after food. Maybe these tips will help you. You should  see a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system) or a physician for this if these tips reduce your symptoms.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
