Please Help!

Hello, I am a healthy (i think) 36 yr old women.
For about 2 months now I have had a few episodes where I wake up to what feels like a huge adrenaline rush. My heart beat is rapid, I get cold chills and hot flashes, My body shakes, muscles feel so tense & stiff. I start to feel light headed and legs feel so weak. I try to just relax but I feel like it is not in my control. I told my Dr. about this an he gave me an RX for Adivan. I do not feel stressed out. So please tell me what this could be, and how can I fix it?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
There are a few things that need to be ruled out: PCOD, H pylori infection with acidity or gastric reflux, adrenal gland problem, hyperthyroidism, hypoglycemia, hormonal imbalance of premenopause.
Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by a visit to an endocrine specialist and your gynecologist. Take care!

have you ever had your adrenals or thyroid checked?  maybe you have the first symptoms of a thyroid issue or adrenal fatigue.  these conditions are so individual that it's hard to know for sure.  i have hypothyroid and it's a temperamental thing to get it all figured out. if you go that route to getting help make sure your doc does a THOROUGH workup - not just a tsh level.  that won't help at all.  find a good endocrinologist who is experienced with thyroid and adrenals (as opposed to say diabetes).  good luck........   keep posting......  and take a look at this site's thyroid community for tons more ideas/info/help.
