Please help my back pain go away:(

When i sit down for a period of time (it can be for only 5 min) i get pain in my lower back.  Then if i go to stand up i need to use tables, walls or anything to help me stand up  as i get a sharp pain in my lower back and cant put weight on my legs until i have adjusted to standing and the pain has gone.  Im even having problems getting off the loo and pulling my trousers up its that bad!

I dont recall doing anything out of the ordinary to cause this pain and it's been like this for 2 weeks now. Any suggestions on what i should do to try and resolve this problem.  Im only 28 but feel like an 80 yr old!

Physical therapy did wonders for me. I had similar pains and found out that I had a bulged disc. I was about 25 at the time.

The firstb thing you need is an evaluation by an M.D. at the earliest opportunity.

You have symptoms consistant with compression of the sciatic nerve. An MRI of the lumbar region is indicated for a definitive diagnosis. An x-ray is insufficient.  Often the condition is self-limiting disappears by itself.

Don't despair. After rest, physical therapy and some anti-inflammatories, the symptoms often resolve.
