Possible Sarcoidosis?

Hey All,

I have been struggling with problems for the past 10 months.  I am a 25 year old male.  My serum calcium level has fluctuated from high normal to slightly elevated over the past 10 months.  I have had every test under the sun.  I have had an SPEP and UPEP for myeloma, EMG

Thanks for the info.  I have had my PTH level check three times.  All three times it was normal.  I had a chest x-ray before and it was fine.  I also had my albumin levels checked.  The have been normal, except for the last time.  It was elevated.  My hematologist and primary care doctor said there is no significance in high albumin, except for it meaning dehydration maybe.

Do you have any other input?

I'm no expert, in fact I recently suspected I had it.  But what I have learned is that it usually shows up on a chest x ray, or a CT scan of the chest.  Calcium levels raised and ACE levels raised.

I had a normal chest x ray, my calcium has fluctuated (from slight raise back to normal) urine test was fine, potassium was fine.  ACE levels were normal.

Have you had ACE levels checked?  CT scan of chest?  Just a couple of suggestions.

Ironically I have felt bad after having a couple of infections (wisdom tooth - treated, and womb - treated, then I got a cold and had these symptoms worsening since)  It could be, you know, that a lot of us on these forums as many have posted about CFS, MS, Fibro, Sarcoidosis and have just had viruses or little infections that we're all having Post Viral Syndrome or CFS.

I have come across many people on many forums that I visit from the heart forum to the neuro forum to the MS forum who have similar symptoms, we're all similar ages too.  Could be a coincidence.  A few I have chatted to have mentioned they were worse after pregnancy like I was.

I had CFS symptoms 2 yrs back, and they seem to have returned but worsened along with some new gems like spots in front of the eyes, regular muscle twitches, electric shocks, tongue spasms, wobbly and achy legs, trouble speaking/stammering, and uneven pupils.

It was uneven pupils that had me worrying about sarcoidosis.

What i do also know is that from what I have learned is that these conditions are treatable but not cureable.  People are prescribed cortisosteroids (sp?), and other meds to control symptoms like SSRI's for anxiety and depression, beta blockers for arrythmias etc...

My mother has had similar symptoms to us when she was younger too.

I assume you are in the US?  If I were you i would have the calcium checked again alongside albumin and potassium, also have ACE levels checked, check PTH again, get a CT scan or MRI done.  ACE levels are tested in helping to diagnose and monitor sarcoidosis.
