Possible hairline fracture or infection

I am a 56 year old woman. About 4 months ago I fell into a door frame, the pain was extreme. The pain has gradually got worse, I have pins and needles and numbness from my hand to the top of my shoulder, it's only on my right arm. The pain is worse just below the top of my shoulder, I can still do things but the pain is just there all the time, it's affecting how I'm sleeping too. Sometimes I feel like I can hear the bones cracking and grinding inside. I think the pain is related to the fall, but I went to my doctor who said it was an infection. There was a little bruise afterwards and no swelling.

What could this be?

I have just looked up info on pinched nerves, and found the symptoms described very similar to what I'm feeling - thank you! I will go to my doctor again and insist he do some tests. Any more info on pinched nerves - treatments etc will be helpful, thank you again.

Thanks for the response

He never said, he did a blood test and said it was an infection, gave me some tablets which eased it a little bit but the tablets run out a while ago and the pain is still there and is getting worse.
