Pressure on top of head

I am a 48 year old female who has had headaches for years.  Some migraines some just bad headaches.  Recently I have been having terrible pressure on top of my head.  I had a CT scan which showed nothing.  It hurts to even brush my hair.  I know it sounds weird but it feels like there is an indent on top towards the back.  Sort of where a baby's soft spot is.  At any rate the pressure is almost constant with occasional relief.  The pressure is bad at times.  It is becoming quite annoying.

Thanks!  The pressure seems worse when I wake up in the mornings or after a nap like this afternoon.  I got up from a short nap & the pressure was really bad.  It's crazy.  As far as the eyes, I just went to the eye doctor & all is well there.  I do wear a night guard because I am constantly clenching & grinding.  Must be the way I relieve stress.  For the most part this has been my life for a long time.  I've always had headaches but this pressure is different than any of my normal headaches.  I just try to manage.

Thats crazy I have the same thing... Im 25 and I always have headaches but my CT also showed nothing... I always have this constant pressure in the top of my head and I also have an Indent on the top of my head... from time to time it gets sore but not to much.. Ive asked my dr and he said that the pressure could be caused from my Constant Anxiety and worry all the time.. I wouldnt worry to much if the Ct scan come back normal.. But just in case you should ask your Dr to do an MRI... Hope things get better for you>

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
It could be due to compression of the occipital nerve, outside the spine. Hence since MRI of neck is normal, this possibility should be looked into. Other than this it can be a local cause like dermatitis or dandruff. Both can cause the nerve ending s to become hypersensitive, and may cause indentation in scalp. Eye problems, though usually cause frontal headaches, should also be looked into. Dental pain is another possibility.
Take care!
