Realy sore tongue

by karma1972, Oct 01, 2006 12:00AM
Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me with this problem i am having with my tongue.I have been to the doctor about my tongue wich has a little bit of white patches on the sides that are painfull. Also I have diffuculty pronouncing certain words at times.I tried Nystatin now I am on a Steroid and strong medication to see if that rids me of this problem. i often get sharp shooting pain on the sides as well. I have asked if it could be thrush or yeast but nothing seems to be helping. The next step the doctors say is a biopsy on my tongue. Can anyone relate to these symptoms. Very sore mouth
Thank you

google the term "geographic tongue".  Doesn't sound identical, but could be.  You need to see either a dentist, or an oral pathologist.  If this condition doesn't sound applicable, then google your symptoms, and see what you come up with.

Check the ph of your body. Go to pharmacy ask for litmus paper.  Follow directions.  If you are too acidic email me and i will tell you ways that i helped myself.  ***@****

You probably have what I have...Lichen Planus. It can be relieved by an ointment of 1% Protopic and   it will also respond to the use of an anti-depressant Effexor. I had a biopsy on my tongue and went to the medical university dermatologist for the ointment. I still will never be able to eat hot stuff and some cereal feels like I'm chewing razor blades....mine is because a lot of people with Hep C get this and I am one of them, however, some people get it without HCV.
