Red Outer Ear

What are some causes of extremely red outer ear?  No pain or trauma to ear but blood red, no swelling.

My grandson went to doctor yesterday and took picture of when it was red.  Ear canal looked fine, no injury, possible allergy (food, maybe), or Parvo (which usually is found in puppies) virus, slapped cheek virus.  Can you enlighten on these possibilities, ways to diagnose, etc.  Thanks.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
There are chances of some eczema or even psoriasis. Ear canal infection too can cause redness of the pinna of the ear. Extreme hot and cold temperatures of the environment too can cause ear redness in some.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
