I have been having pain around what feels like the lowest fused ribRib cage pain on my left side. I cannot bend fully to that side and get pain when trying to bend or sittting/standing straight. When looking into a mirror it looks like my left ribcage(aforementioned ribRib cage pain) comes lower than the equivalent ribRib cage pain on the right side. Sometimes when I get pain there and I rub the area, it almost feels like the ribRib cage pain is crossing over and pushing down on the ribRib cage pain below it. I only get pain when my left side is compressed, so I have no pain when leaning to the right. I have seen vaious doctors and they say its just some inflammation and will go away but I have been having this pain for about 10 years now at least.
Hi
Welcome to the forum!
There is a strong possibility it is costochondritis (inflammation of the joint between rib and sternum. The inflammation around the joint area gives sharp pain on taking a breath. This can also cause tenderness on pressing the area which pains.
Chances are also that you have esophageal reflux (GERD), where the food in your stomach is thrown up into your food pipe or esophagus. Another possibility is hiatal hernia, where a portion of stomach herniates into the chest cavity through the diaphragm.
Discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
