SOAPY TASTE IN MOUTH!!!

I have the worst taste in my mouth.  First, it started off as a metallic/copperish taste.  Now, it's progressing to a soapy taste.  No matter how much I drink, brush my teeth, or rinse my mouth out with soap, I still have this awful taste.  I went to the dentist today and he said everything was fine... no gingivitis, irritation, etc.  Nothing.

The only thing I can think of is I took an antibiotic (ciprofloxacin) for a sinus infection weeks ago.  Other than that, nothing.  This is driving me crazy.

Weird tastes in mouth are a common side effect of ciprofloxacin apparently if you google it.

I'm curious about why you're washing your mouth out with soap to get rid of a soapy taste,  though.

It is likely that antibiotic messed up you bacteria in your body. When your bodies bacteria is out of balance you can get an overgrowth of yeast and it could cause you have poor digestion, which intern gives you a bad taste. Try going on a strict diet for a few weeks and add a good refrigerated probiotic. Do not eat any sugary foods or drinks, do not eat pasta, bread or rice until the bad taste goes away. The carbohydrates that you should avoid will feed that bad bacteria (yeast) and cause you to get worse if you don't nip this in the bud.
It is also likely that you had this imbalance before taking antibiotics because sinus infections can be caused by yeast overgrowth. Curing yeast is only done by changing ones diet, taking anti-fungals and certain supplements.
I know a lot about this condition because I have been fighting this for years.
