Wow, this sounds so much like Menopausal Syndrome, just a fancy name for menopausal symptoms. May I ask...did you have your ovaries removed when you had the hysterectomy? I am assuming you did, but there are so many variations ...just uterus removed...ovaries removed...one ovary removed, etc.

May I also ask your age? Any biological children? Age would not play into it as far as menopausal symptoms if in fact the ovaries were removed. And, sad to say, women are often not told of the consequences of having the ovaries removed. I have been researching this topic for over six years since I had everything removed during a radical hysterectomy for ovarian cancer. I had absolutely no idea what would follow and why...and, why not everyone suffers the same way or as deeply. Also, surgical menopause is the most difficult and if you were not treated for this you must be having a very difficult time...

Sounds like the other posters have some ideas too that could lead you to an answer...sounds like you are having a tough time and I hope you get some relief soon.

I will look for your post tomorrow after work.

Take care, Mary

Have you ever been tested for cushings syndrome? I have had some of the same problems, like the bloating of stomach, or weight gain in the belly area no matter if I ate 2000 calories or just 1000. I could not/or can not lose weight. I have even had gastric bypass, lost 80 lbs but have gained every bit of it back in the last 6 months due to cushings. Finally after seeing an episode of mystery diagnosis on discovery health channel I researched cushings and it fit me to a T so I had the doctors test me. I have had to go through 3 different tests and all the numbers were elevated. I guess I should also mention I have a pituitary tumor that they think is causing the cushings. Cushings can cause alot of pain, trust me. I have fibromyalgia as well as all this other **** and I have massive chronic pain. I can honestly say I dont remember the last time I had a pain free day. I bet its been about 5 or 6 years, and I am only 27!!!

Google cushings syndrome and see if it fits you. Here are a few of the symptoms...

Weight gain, particularly around your midsection and upper back
Fatigue
Muscle weakness
Rounding of your face (moon face)
Facial flushing
Fatty pad or hump between your shoulders (buffalo hump)
Pink or purple stretch marks (striae) on the skin of your abdomen, thighs, breasts and arms
Thin and fragile skin that bruises easily
Slow healing of cuts, insect bites and infections
Depression, anxiety and irritability
Thicker or more visible body and facial hair (hirsutism)
Acne
Irregular or absent menstrual periods in females
Erectile dysfunction in males
High blood pressure

P.S. - If you get the cortisol level drawn, that will help rule out Cushing's disease.
