Severe abdominal pain in left lower abdomin

My 17 year old daughter has been having severe abdominal pain in the left lower abdomin for 5 to 6 days.  It has had her doubled in pain and crying for days.  She is nauseous and feeling dizzy in addition to the severe pain.  I took her to the hospital two days in a row.  She was given a pelvic by each doctor, urine tests, blood tests and a cat scan.  No know knows what is wrong.  She is in severe pain.  I dont know what to do. This is a kid who is always on the go and to see her laid up like this is unsettling.  Can you help me.  I dont know what to do.

Have they checked her urine for any blood? My daughter had kidney stones several months back.  It caused severe abdominal pain where she was doubled over, throwing up, dizzy, just very sick.  Doctors thought at first it was the flu.  I knew it wasn't.  Finally after blood in urine, they did an xray and found she had 2 kidney stones.  Just thought you might have them check for that as well.  Good luck......

My first thought was that it could be an ectopic pregnancy. If that's a possibility, then she needs to take a pregnancy test and have an ultrasound ASAP.

I am sorry to hear about your daugters pain.  Insist on the ultra sound if that still comes back negative look up endometriosis on the internet.  I had MRI's, ultrasounds, blood tests, urinalysis, pelvic exams,; all came back normal.  I talked to my docotor about endometriosis and she did laproscopsic surgery (which is the only way to diagnose endo) and she found a small patch of endometriosis.  Before my diagnosis I was reading about endometriosis online and found out that on avergae it takes 6-8 years for a women to properly be diagnosed because the symptoms are so much like other conditions, many doctors don't know about endo (your obgyn should), and because the diagnosis is a bit intrusive.  I would have never brought it up to my docotr if a women I worked with did not tell me about it, so I am just throing it out there just in case it is I do not want your daughter to go that long.  Good luck and keep us posted.

No she hasnt fallen or anything.  The 1st doctor said she may need an ultrasound.  The second Dr was a Jerk and when I told him about the need for an ultrasound he made a smartaleck comment about the cat scan having been negative.  So I pointed out that dont those two tests also find different things and he grudgingly agreed and gave me a prescription for an ultrasound. I think some drs think all parents are idiots.  Anyway, I have been calling around to get her an ultrasound but have been having trouble getting her in right away.  They keep telling me to take her to the er.  Which I did twice already.  This is really frustrating.

Has she fallen or been in any kind of accident lately where she could have put her back out of place?

Have you taken her a Gyn for an ultrasound to make sure she doesn't have an ovarian cyst?

Just a few things off the top of my head.

Good luck!

I forgot to mention that the severe pain is sharp and even radiates somewhat down her leg.
