Severe foggy head

I have been having chronic sinusitus for over 4 years.  I had endoscopic surgery in November of last year.  I still have sinusitus.  Unfortunately, now I am dizzy and foggy minded.  I saw the ENT and had all kinds of tests run.  My CT scan shows I have "Superior Canal Dihistence"  Personally, I think this dizziness is due to my sinus junk.  My left ear is also muffled if I talk loudly.  I am 52 years old.  I am waiting for this tolerance test derived from your hair which check 600 things you could be allergic too.  Any thoughts other than take antibiotics or steroids?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If ear is the cause of vertigo (rotator movement of self or environment) then it could be due to benign positional vertigo, Meniere's disease, vestibular neuronitis and labyrinthitis. Other causes of dizziness are otitis media, trauma, side effects of drugs, TMJ, and fluid in ear. All these causes will have to be ruled out one by one by your ENT through specialized test. If it is blocked Eustachian tube, then doing a valsalva maneuver (Done by taking a deep breath and blowing while pinching your nostrils and closing your mouth) will help. This will help clear the secretions in the tube that connects the back of your throat with your ear.
Chronic sinusitis is often allergic and can be due to mold infection too. A damp wall in the house, carpets, and ACs are all potential sources of mold. Please consult an allergy specialist. Yes, you will need to take the allergy test. Chronic sinusitis can also be due to EBV infection.
The other possibility is deviated nasal septum. Nasal polyps and tumors, worms in stool causing high eosinophil counts, gastric reflux are the other causes.
The treatment will be complete only on removing the cause. Hence please consult you ENT specialist and discuss these possibilities. Take a second opinion if need be. Depending on the cause treatment will be prescribed. Take care!

I don't think this fully relates, but I had chonic sinusitus for eight years. I would get 4-8 sinus infections a year, constant migrains and sinus pressure headaches, and started growing an immunity to antibiotics and did take one round of a steriod drug for it.  I also had allergy testing done and found at least 30 things that I'm allergic to. Most were food, but, many of them enviromental  allergies that I was unaware of. Since I learned of my allergies, I've been able to avoid most but have also I have been put on a constant treatment of fluticasone (sp?) and just generica allergy medication. I don't want to jinx myself but I have only had one sinus infection since I began this treatment.
