Sharp, chronic back pain

I am a 20 year old male. I have been battling with severe back pain since last August. It initially only got worse periodically, but now, it is almost all the time. I went to my family doctor, and after giving me a dignosis of sub-clinical shingles the first time and muscle pain the second time, I thought I'd try here. The pain medication and muscle relaxers he gave me for shingles and muscle pain did not help at all. I have also had a lot of stomach problems recently, so I went to have a scope done, at which time they found very little wrong with my stomach and that some of my liver levels were elevated. They suggested that I be tested for hepatitis, so I did, but it came back negative.
To try to be a little more specific on the pain, it feels like someone is stabbing me at the bottom left side of my sholder blade. When it is really bad, I feel nauseated, and the pain comes through to my chest.
