Largely no. Shingles starts with shooting pain and pain may occur after the rash. Hence shingles occurs with pain only most of the time. Shingles without rash is commonCommon cold.

Yes, you can take bath when you have shingles. Pat the affected area dry. Then apply the creams prescribed. Take your medicines regularly. At times cold compress helps take care of pain. Maintain good person hygiene.
