Shocks/Tingles and odd pain.

Hello guys, first post here so sorry if in the wrong section.

Well, i'm 25 and the thing is for a few weeks now i have been getting odd shocks/tingles mainly through my hands but also feet/legs and rarer still elsewhere while on the PC. (I've changed pc case/power supply and got rid of my OLD crt monitor since it started so i'm not sure its the pc itself anymore)

I only really ever get the feeling when i'm sitting at it though and it can build up and become painful at times. I've also had my elbow joints and hands become a little locked and harder to move, also a bit painful.

I had a week away from sitting there and felt a bit better too.

Right, thank you for all the help.

I've been off my pc for over 2 weeks anyway as i've stayed with a friend and during all that time i have been fine no matter where i sat etc. As soon as i sit at my PC it's back again, off to the docs it is but it seems really weird.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The jolting pains can be due Vit D or Vit B12 deficiency, ankylosing spondylitis causing multiple pinched nerves, or due to sciatica which happens due to pinched sacral nerve root. It could be ankylosing spondylitis in your case as also the elbow and joints of hands  are painful.  It can also be carpel tunnel syndrome or a pinched ulnar nerve at the elbow.
Get the blood levels of the above checked. You would need to consult an orthopedic specialist and a neurologist and the treatment will involve medicines, physiotherapy and maybe surgery if need be.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

It is possible that you are getting carpal tunnel in your hands/wrists from using the computer too much (or some other repetitive stress injury). For this, try to take regular breaks and maybe get splints/braces (from a pharmacy or other store) to wear while on the computer or sleeping to keep from moving them as much. The feet/legs might be getting "numb" from sitting in a cramped position for too long, so try getting up and stretching and walking around every once and awhile. Maybe there is also a lot of static that is shocking you. Other possibilities, though much less likely, could be multiple sclerosis (MS), lupus, panic attacks/anxiety, fibromyalgia, arthritis. If it continues to be a problem you should probably see a doctor. Goodluck!
