Shooting pain underneath the belt

I sometimes have these shooting pains randomly that go through my rectum area. Sometimes I could be doing absolutely nothing and other times I could be actively walking or running. It usually happens when I am about to sit down. I will start to sit down and I get this shooting pain that won't allow me to sit down and almost become paralyzed for a couple of minutes. I usually have to lay down and clench my legs together to with hold the pain. The pain is so severe that I cannot move until it is over. This has happened to me at least 4 times within the year. I am a 20 year old female and sexually active. I haven't been checked out yet since I have no insurance and strapped for cash. (College student) Anyone know what may be the problem?

Also I try to burp or flatulence and it helps. The pain is somewhat a gas type feeling.
