Shoulder Injury

Hi guys, Im a 29 year old male. Ive been training with weights for the last three years. A few months ago I noticed a slight pain in my right right shoulder, around the point where it connects with my chest muscle, when i was doing chest excercises (bench press, dumbell presses). I would only feel this slight pain when i was training my chest. Recently, however, my shoulder has become significantly weaker than it has been previously. I cannot seem lift a much weight as i used to. I have since stopped doing any excercises that involve my right shoulder to give it a chance to heal. Does anybody have any idea what the problem could be? I still have full range of movement with my right shoulder and i have not felt any serious pain, just a slight strain.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If you are not able to lift weight then you have either a muscle or nerve injury. It is unlikely that you have injured your shoulder joint or the rotator cuff therein as this will cause pain. You need to consult a sports injury specialist to find out the exact cause for the weakness. Please avoid exercising meanwhile.
Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!

it sounds like a strained or pulled muscel, the time out is good, but if weakness persists for too long, more than a week with no improvement, see a doctor, it could be serious, or nothing.  if you don't have insurance, go to a local clinic, they will work with you more on price and payments.
Good luck
