Simultaneous headache, palpitations and stomach upset

For the last 3 months I have had episodes of chronic headache, followed by a churning, ache in the stomach and palpitations.  They all seem to start at the same time and I don't know what triggers them.  My doctor thought that they were panic attacks and gave me beta blockers.  This has reduced the palpitations but the headache still comes on with chest pain and stomach upset.  Sometimes the headache eases as the day progresses but other days it is there all the time, moving around my head as a constant pressure.  I do not think that I am suffering from "panic attacks" as they come on suddenly at any time regardless of whether I am feeling anxious or not.  I take medication for high blood pressure.  Any suggestions?  Many thanks.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If there is accompanying stomach upsets then severe acidity, IBS, Crohn’s disease, celac disease and gastric reflux have to be ruled out. Since you have high BP, a complete cardiac check up with 12 lead EKG and ECHO, treadmill test should be done. Alcohol, caffeine, and BP lowering drugs can also cause palpitations. Disease (such as hyperthyroidism and pheochromocytoma) or mitral stenosis, panic disorder all cause this. Palpitations may be associated with heart problems, anemias and low blood pressure. Check and see if the medications reduce your BP and bring it too low. Please consult a gastroenterologist and a cardiologist. Take care!
