Soreness in muscles and red blotches on face

I have soreness all over my body in certain parts. It doesn't hurt, but when you touch that area it almost feels like a bruise to the touch.  But there is no discoloration. They are in my shoulders, lower back, face, sometimes in my legs.  I've tried massages, but they only make me hurt worse. In the last 2 weeks, I have noticed that by the end of the day my cheeks are red with patchey looking bumps. The heat also triggers it at times. I also have no energy what so ever.

Oh man kalio1 I hate to hear those words. True that fms is hard to diagnose, it does not mean that they cant figure out what is wrong with you. As hityty said doctors are becoming familiar with fibro. I have had it for about 4 years now, and let me tell you IT IS REAL, and it sucks. We don't fake our pain, as many people think. Just because we look ok on the outside does not mean we are ok! We just have to learn to deal with it and live with it since there is no cure. WE dont want people to feel sorry for us, we just want understanding. Can you imagine being in so much pain that it hurts just to pull your pants down over your skin to go to the bathroom? Well be thankful you don't have to experience it, because its not fun. I mean its bad enough to be in pain every day of your life, but why in the world go around looking sad or ill in the face all the time too? I have learned that it only makes you feel worse.

I too like hityty was fine for the first couple of years. I was able to work fulltime and take care of my family and also go to college, but things have dramatically changed. I just recently got fired from my job becuase I was too sick to go to work. I could hardly get out of bed because the pains in my legs were so severe I couldnt walk. I even had a doctors note but that doesnt matter to the workforce. They need people there to work, not to fill up spots and be out sick all the time. I have not become bed ridden fulltime like some fibro patients, but like I said there are some days that I can not get out of bed.

for anyone diagnosed with fibromyalgia it is recocmmeded you be checked for hep c. it displays NO symptoms often times and lurks under the radar you can have normal liver tests but still have it.You do NOT have to have a drug use history to be exposed to it, it is estimated 5 million people have it today and they are undiagosed. It is a simple blood test, 30% of peope with HEp C have no idea where they got it and have no past history to indiccate they might have it.

I would suggest having your liver checked. I recently had an angioplasty, November 13,2005, whereas afterward they put me on Plavix, within a month I was having some symphtoms similar to yours including bruising, blotch marks on face, etc. A liver test came back abnormal, whereas I immediately had a Liver Scan ordered by my Doctor. My liver was enlarged, and fatty, at the same time my Doctor took me off the Plavix. After three months the symphtoms went away and have not returned, the blotches on my face have disappeared as well. Sorry for the spelling errors.

More doc's are becoming aware that Fibromyalgia(FMS) is REAL, it's just hard to find them, sometimes. You're symptoms do fall under the category of FMS, Liver prob's (as mentioned) and other things. People can have different 'degrees' of FMS, some manage well with occasional flare ups, others are or can become very ill. I was able to work and go through 5 yrs of college with FMS, and this last year has caused me to become bedridden for 5 months, check out "Fibromyalgia Network"  at fmnetnews.com. The red patches could be related or not. Thyroid would also be another good thing to have checked. You may want to check out marshallprotocol.com, a curative treatment for autoimmune diseases. (It's pretty intensive, but so is being chronically ill.) I hope you find a doctor who will listen, there are referral lists available for good FMS doc's through the Fibromyalgia Network. Let us know how you're doing!

Get your liver checked out it is a simple blood test to do a hepatic panel. Fibromyalgia isnt really a diagnosis as much as a category they put you in when the answer is "I dont know what is causing your symptoms" but doctors dont like to say that.

Someone said that I may have Fibromyalgia.  I've been to a doctor in the past, he kind of blew me off-just prescribed me medicine. I'm able to work, so I don't think that is the problem. Any suggestions!!

Have you had your liver evaluated? The fatigue, muscle soreness and the red blotchiness on your face are all symptoms of liver illness, I'd be evaluated right away. Liver problems can be very sneaky and hard to diagnose and are often missed by doctors. I'd ask your doctor to do a full hepatic panel to make sure your liver is ok.
